Within Liliʻuokalani Trust, we offer an array of programs for kamaliʻi (children) and their family. Within our Social Services strand, we offer Hoʻopono. Hoʻopono is a modern-day adaptation of the Hawaiian traditional practice of Hoʻoponopono or restoring family and maintain good relationships among family, and family-and-supernatural powers.

The purpose of Hoʻopono is to empower families with a cultural approach to resolve everyday pilikia (issues) and maintain harmony.

The outcomes focus on developing healthy communication skills, increasing positive coping skills while decreasing negative coping behaviors, identifying strengths individually and as a family, and learning a Hawaiian/spiritual practice. The ultimate outcome is a vision of “Hoʻopono in every home.”
